Something a little different... Nail Rock Nail Wraps

So today I have something a little different for all my lovely followers (yes that includes you!). As a University student I live in a rented house during the university term with 3 housemates and my polish stash however we have very long University holidays (4 weeks) in which time I go home  to see my family. Sadly I can't lug all my polish around with me.

I thought that because of this it would be the perfect opportunity to try out these nail wraps I picked up from New Look.

These Metallic Red ones were reduced as they had a wrap missing. I may have bought them based on the sexy picture on the front. I have a thing for lips. And I had a gift card to spend at New Look. Anyway...

This is what they look like. (I actually had lots left over and because of my super short nails could use one half sometimes to fiT two nails) so for me this will be two applications worth. For super wide or long nails you may not be able to do this :(

So here they are, they're not perfect but they do look pretty nice to me. I love the fact I can have REAL metallic nails! Eek!

So  how do these work? First take off any varnish you have and push back your cuticle's. Then buff your nails with a nail file to take off the shine (optional step, swipe again with polish remover to get rid of any loose bits). Pick the wrap that is the best fit for your nail and remove from backing and place on nail. Use a hairdryer to heat the wrap and push down and stick onto your nail. File off the excess (this is the hardest step and it is quite tricky to make the free edge looking nice).

Blurry photo to see how shiny these are! Application wasn't too hard, this took me about 30 mins to do. I did burn myself with the hairdyer but that was just me being stupid.

I don't know how long these will actually last but i am actually very pleased with the,. What do you think? Have you tried nail wraps or do you just use polish?

  4. Wow, what a bargain. I would have bought them too! I saw some difference one's in Boots recently but they were over £7 so I wanted to read a review on them first. Let us know how long they last and whether they are worth the full price.

  6. Thank you ladies, these lasted me the whole five days but by the end they looked a little messy at the end and became a little scratchy! But they are definatly worth it if you can't paint your nails each day or touch up chips!
