C Varnish Week: Cheshire Cat

So today brings the first post in my C Varnish Week.  I am a major Alice In Wonderland nut, I studied it at University and loved the chance to examine this book and it's many nuances in lots of detail. When I saw Jen had an Alice In Wonderland collection of nail polishes I just KNEW I had to have some of them. The first one to take my fancy was Cheshire Cat and that is the swatch I am going to show you today.

Cheshire Cat is a mauve purple creme polish with blue undertones packed with teal micro and hex/ square glitter and really cute purple diamonds.  Check out this bottle shot to the extent of the glitter explosion:

My camera had a really hard job capturing the exact shade of this polish and makes it look too blue, but trust me it is a very pretty purple. In fact it is the EXACT same shade of purple as Color Club Pucci Licious which is what I used as a base for the glitter.

I was a bit worried that this polish may be slightly sheer (hence the base polish) but in fact this polish is easily build-able on it's own in two coats. Whats more application was smooth and there was no fishing around for glitter with this, yet the base to glitter ratio was just right meaning that it wasn't over-saturated and a draggy polish either. Bonus! One quick top coat of Seche was all that I needed to make this polish lovely and smooth too. I was a bit worried that the diamonds might be snaggy but they seemed fine for the duration I wore this polish for.

This is such a pretty girly colour and has almost fairy qualities to it. I just adore those sparse diamonds!

I would definitely recommend buying a full sized bottle of this polish rather than the mini size as I hate the fact I now have to ration my mini bottle until I can afford a bigger one. Look at the complexity of this polish! I know a few purple fiends out there that will need to own this!

The wonderful Jen has just restocked her Esty shop with full sized bottles (costing £4 each) but she also does great deals on mini bottles where you can pick which shades you want which hopefully she will be restocking soon. Don't forget you can also check out the C Varnish Facebook page for updates on upcoming collection! If you do pop buy C Varnish's store feel free to let Jen know that you heard about her here at PishPosh and Polish! Plus tomorrow I have another awesome shade to share with you! Arn't you lucky?

Let me leave you with a quick quote from Alice In Wonderland featuring our namesake cat (I think it sums up the Nail Polish community really)

`But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad.'
`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'
