The Digit-al Dozen does Festiveness: All I want for Christmas is a Tape Manicure

Eek so I got really busy yesterday and didn't get to post so you get an extra post from me today. This manicure is inspired by the tape manicure's Debbie at The Crumpet has been doing. After talking to her I bought these french tip stickers on ebay. I love the fact you get loads of stickers in loads of designs, but you could easily make your own with some tape and some of those cute pattern craft scissors you can buy.

So this is just a simple Christmas themed tape manicure, I mean how much more festive can you get than red and gold? This manicure started life as a base of Sally Hansen Chrome polish in White Gold Chrome. This polish is very simular to Barry M Gold foil effects apart from being maybe a shade lighter. What I liked about the Sally Hansen, is that like the Barry M they are less streaky than other foil polishes. I hate seeing those brush strokes! Once It was dry I applied the zig-zag nail tape down the center of my nail (I stuck them to my hands a couple of times first to take away some of the stick).

I then used one of my untried but new polish loves, Jade Holografico in Vermelho Surreal. This is a beautiful scarlet red holographic polish. I can believe how great the coverage of this polish was. One coat and there were no streaks and non faffing around like you have to with other holographic polishes! I whipped off the striping tape while the Jade was still wet to get lovely crisp lines.

The holographic qualities of this polish are mind blowing, even in a poorly lit room you can see the linear holographic prettiness. When the light hits it this polish goes crazy!

I love the holographic red against the chrome/ foily gold it looks really pretty. I wore this polish combination for four days with any chips with a topcoat of Seche Vite (which also doesn't dull the holographic effects by the way)!  This manicure looks a lot more complex than it really is, which is great because over Christmas we have all got other things to be doing, haven't we?
