Today's bling manicure goes back to basics with a yummy glitter bomb manicure:
This manicure was going to be entirely different. I started with a base of Illamasqua Pink Raindrops and this is where my problems started. Let me first say I am a major fan of Illamasqua and I am going to try swatching this polish again to give it a second chance but this time around at least I had real problems with it. Firstly those tiny pretty flakies you see in the photo made the polish seem lumpy when I applied it. Secondly this polish really didn't like topcoat it seemed to wrinkle a bit like nail foil under it. So I decided to hide the yuckyness with a pretty glitter topper.
I used one coat of A England She Walked In beauty and that made all the difference. She Walks In Beauty is a soup of golden micro shimmer with larger pinky golden glitter. On the nail it looked beautiful, one moment it was pink, the next second it was gold. It applied smoothly and was just opaque enough to cover the wrinkles but you could still see the pink underneath. I like the fact the glitter applied evenly to the nail without placement or dragging.
Do I need to say more? I love this combination, I really is bling without being over the top and is still very feminine and chic. One layer of Seche Vite made this smooth and glass-like to the touch. It is perfect.
You can check out the rest of the dozen in the link below! I will be back tomorrow with another blingtastic manicure for you all!
