The Digit-al Dozen Monochrome week: Green Abstract Nails

Today I have tried a techinique that I haven't done before, making nail stickers out of tape. Basically all it involves is painting some tape with nail polish and then letting it dry. Then you can cut it up into little bits and apply them to the nail.

The base of this manicure is Avon Absinthe which is suppose to contain diamond dust. It is a yellow toned green with lots of glass fleck shimmer. My stickers are made from a range of random green polishes!
(You can see where I have had to chop down my broken nail that I spoke about yesterday too! owch!)

I was really pleased with how this worked. I love the sharp lines that I was able to create with the tape, they also sit completely flat on the nail, even before I added topcoat! So no snaggy ends!

Anyway you can check out the rest of the Dozen's manicure's below and we are also hosting a super fab giveaway here which includes two polishes from my own indie line as prizes!! I'll be back tomorrow with more monochrome nails!

  1. What a fun abstract manicure!

  2. Very cool! I've never done DIY decals like this, but I need to!

  3. I would never have thought of painting tape and THEN cutting it up! I always use tape to tape off sections, which is a huuuuge pain in the arse! So smart!

  4. I was looking at this and thought it was layer after layer of taping off and could only imagine how long it took! I hadn't hear of painting tape and cutting it before; may have to try it one of these days! Fantastic mani!

  5. Lurve it a lot! These are so abstract and 80s I love it! So many possibilities!
