Makeup Revolution Salvation Velvet Lip Lacquer: What I Beileve

Thanks for the comments on yesterdays post, today I am bringing youa beauty review! Enjoy!

When Makeup Revolution launched with it's Lime Crime Velvetine inspired liquid matte lipsticks I knew I needed to purchase some of them. We all know that my obsession with matte lip products almost rivals my polish one!  After watching the lovely Dyna's vblog review on all the shades I decided to pick up three that I thought I would wear the most!

Today I am sharing What I Beileve which is the lightest shade in the collection. In the tube it is a nude toned pink.  It looks very wearable and creamy, almost a your-lips-but-better shade.

I am not a 100% sure about the packaging of these, compared to the MUA velvet lacquers, these feel a bit cheaper. I like the rose gold box but the typography makes it look really cheap. The tube itself is also quite a cheap plastic and the lid squeaks when you tighten it which I am not a fan of at all.

There is Doe foot applicator inside which I like as they are quite precise. Also the brush doesn't pick up too much product.

On the lips this is slightly more pink-toned than it appears in the tube. It is very pigmented and creamy. I carefully applied the product to my lips and within seconds it had dried to a matte finish.

Like all matte products it sticks to any flakes and imperfections in the lips but from a distance it isn't noticeable. I found it was maybe a little streaky but that could be user error.

The stay time on this was pretty decent, it will last for a good amount of time although I did notice as soon as I drank or ate this flaked off my lips quite quickly so I wouldn't recommend wearing this out to lunch!

In all this is a fairly decent product and for the £3 price tag you can't quibble with it. I can't wait to try some of the other Makeup Revolution Products and I have two more of these Velvet Lip Lacquers to share with you too!

  1. I have a mua version of these and it streaks doesn't apply evenly and really isn't up to par with the lime crime versions. They are also much thicker and I notice these on my lips!

  2. Its a nice color but I prefer my lip color to be a little bit glossy.
