MyPure Review: Acorelle Hair Growth Minimiser

Today I bringing you another review from the store My Pure which specialises in nautral beauty and makeup products. Today's post is about  Acorelle Hair Growth Minimiser  which can be found here.

One of the issues with having naturally dark hair is the fact it can sometimes appear in those unwanted places! The idea of a Hair Growth Minimiser is that it inhibits growth of these hairs as opposed to just removing them.

The product arrived in a nicely packaged box.  As you can see from the box the cream contains  black truffle extract which is seen as good at slowing down hair growth. There are also active enzymes which  means hair regrowth is slower and hairs are fewer and finer. This sounds great to me!

On the MyPure site they go into a little more detail about the truffle extract which I think is quite interesting:

Ten years ago in the Toulouse region of France a cosmetic chemist decided to find out why nothing grows under trees when there are black truffles growing in the soil.  An extract from the truffles was found to inhibit plant growth under the trees and it is this same extract which was later found to inhibit hair regrowth after waxing.
Each hair follicle is attached to a sack which contains stem cells.  These stem cells are quite smart and can turn themselves into either sebum, new skin cells or a new hair root.  When a hair is removed from the follicle the stem cells usually migrate down to the bottom of the hair shaft where they form a new hair root. However when the black truffle extract is applied the stem cells migrate towards the surface of the skin where they form new skin cells instead.

The tube inside is quite small but you do not need to apply to much product at once.  It is a squeeze type tube with a massage applicator/tip which you use to apply and massage in the product in small circles to the area you want to minimize hair growth.

Personally I found this product a little hard to use, the cream was more like a paste and wouldn't come out of the tube without a lot of pressure in which case far too much product would come out at once and I would end up wasting some product. With practice I have gotten better at this but considering the small size of the tube I really don't want to waste anything of the cream.

However I really like the massage applicator, it made applying the product and working it into the skin much easier.

So did it work? The answer for me is yes. It doesn't fully remove the hairs but it did drastically slow down growth for me. Also I have noticed those hairs do seem much less noticeable and finer. I did find it took about 2 weeks of use every day to notice a result so if you want a quick fix this product might not be for you. But in the long run I found it very good.

The inclusion of this graphic means that the product above was sent to me for review. All opinions are honest and all information is correct at the time of writing.
