Products That Suck: Garnier Skin Naturals Moisture Match - Shine Be Gone

Today I am back with another product that hasn't made the cut. I picked up Garnier's Moisture Match for oily skin (called Shine Be Gone) a few months back when I saw it on sale. I was really impressed by the spectrum of creams they had to suit almost any skin type.

The cream has a nice light scent that isn't too overpowering and is very fresh and appealing.  All good so far!

Shine Be Gone is designed for oily-combination skin and aims to reduce the amount of shine and/oil you can see on the skin’s surface. I am a big fan of mattifying moistureisers so had high hopes for this one.

The little plastic 50ml tube comes in s sturdy cardboard box and feels very 'grown up' (alot of mattifying products tend to be aimed at teenagers!) so it got the big thumbs up from me there!  I found that a small amount  of product was needed for your whole face and neck so this tube would last for a long time. Obviously it is oil free and contains green tea extract amongst other things.

The first thing to note was that the cream itself is slightly green tinged, I had hoped that it has anti-redness correcting properties but in actual fact this wasn't the case. It was 'clear' when rubbed into the skin. No matter.

I also found this cream hard to absorb into my skin and it left a film on the surface of my skin that wasn't really what I would call mattifying. It felt almost greasy (but not oily) yet the cream itself was quite lightweight.

Oddly I also found that once I applied this it made my eyes water like mad, I really don't have sensitive skin and had no allergies so have no clue what this issue is based on. I have lots of other reviews online and no-one else has reported a similar issue so maybe I am just odd!

I also was a little dissapointed to see that this product doesn't contain any SPF, this is something that I think should certainly be taken into consideration with any moisturiser.

In all this product would suit normal skin types but for actual oily skin I wouldn't really recommend this product. Sorry Garnier that is two products that has made it into one of these features now!
