The first time I tried Lush's Cupcake Face Mask was back in 2012 in my first ever Lush order. I have tried a few different masks since then but this is one I keep coming back to time and time again. I think the good enough to eat nature of it must have something to do with my love of it.
Lush's face masks are fresh, they are kept on ice in the store and must be kept refrigerated. Lush says that the shelf life of their masks is about three weeks but in my experience you can get away with a bit longer than this, which is great as each pot will do for a good number of applications.
Cupcake is especially designed to help deal with oily and acne prone 'teenage' skin- although we all know it doesn't matter what age your skin is it can still have it's problems! This mask claims to give a deep clean to your pores, while calming redness and reducing oil. Scent wise this mask is very strong. It smells like dark chocolate and mint, It is so yummy! Also the mint in the formula creates a subtle tingling effect which is really nice and cooling.
This is quite quite a thick mask to work with and can take some time to spread and apply on your face. I normally leave this mask on for about 10 minuets to dry and pull and impurities out of my skin before washing it off in warm water. I do find that this mask can be a little messy when removing due to the dark colour and thickness of the mask so I normally use the shower to rinse it off.
In all I love this mask, it makes my skin feel clean and soft and my pores look less visible. This mask doesn't dry out my skin like other anti-acne products too. However I cannot say this has any real effect on acne but this can be solved my implementing other products into your skincare routine.
